If you’re on this page, you’re most likely interested in knowing who I am and what I’m about, especially since this site deals with health content. While the Home page gave you some information, I’ll try to fill in the gaps.
My name is Karen Cioffi-Ventrice. I’m a former accountant who had to give up the pencil (due to Multiple Sclerosis) and picked up the pen. I’m now a multi-award-winning author, freelance writer, ghostwriter, editor, and online marketer.
To describe myself for you I’ll use terms family and friends have labeled me: Loyal, caring, loving, kind, honest, and a hard worker.
To add to this, I’m a wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and I’m committed to my family and God. Finally, I’m an environmentalist and love learning.
So, what has all this go to do with this site? Well, nothing, but . . .
I’ve been diagnosed with: multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, multiple chemical sensitivities, asthma, allergies, Raynaud’s disease, and a number of other health issues, including what I called disabling anxiety years ago. My mother became quadriplegic from MS, my father had Alzheimers and heart disease. And, my husband suffers from emphysema, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, depression, and anxiety.
While I’m sure there are others who could put my list to shame, I’ve spent most of my adult life seeking ‘health’ help, striving to become a healthier me or helping family members. Along the way I’ve found some things that work, some doctors who are a waste of money, and some things that are down right dangerous. And, I do ongoing research into health options.
As I mentioned on my Home page, this site is about offering information to provide insight, knowledge, hopefully comfort, and some resources in regard to chronic health issues. I’m not a doctor or in the medical profession and any information you gather from this site needs to be discussed with a qualified doctor.
Please keep in mind that every ‘body’ is different. I’ve learned this the hard way a number of times. This is especially true when dealing with chemical sensitivities. So please, no matter how innocent a resource, a product, or idea may seem, ALWAYS TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE TRYING ANYTHING NEW.
I hope this reassures you as to who I am and why I have a site like this.
